DR. GINGER GILMORE, DBH, M ED, ATC, LAT
Chief Mental Health Officer
Dr. Ginger Gilmore is the Chief Mental Health Officer at OnBalance, focused on providing mental health care expertise to collegiate athletic departments across the country. Dr. Gilmore will work directly with the OnBalance customer success team to assure care providers optimize program usage for improving care outcomes. Most recently, Dr. Gilmore served as Assistant Athletic Director of Behavioral Health and Wellness at the University of Alabama where she has worked for nearly 30 years, including with the school’s historical football program. Dr. Gilmore was recruited by former head football coach Nick Saban shortly after he was hired in 2007. With his support, Dr. Gilmore built and managed one of the premier mental and behavioral health programs in the NCAA, providing mental and behavioral health to over 600 student athletes. While in this role, she has been part of six national championships, eight SEC championships in football, and worked with hundreds of players who have gone on to star in the NFL. Dr. Gilmore began her career at Northwestern State University of Louisiana, where she worked for nearly four years as an athletic trainer. She returned to her alma mater as a head athletic trainer for Women’s Basketball and Baseball before answering Coach Saban’s request to join his football staff. She holds degrees from The University of Alabama, Northwestern State University, and later earned a doctorate in behavioral health from Arizona State University.
